Tesco Application Form 2013
« on: December 28, 2012, 06:23:44 PM »
Discussions about working for Tesco in 2013 and online application form.

The Tesco job application process

If you're hoping for a job at Tesco then you can start by searching for current vacancies on their online jobsite.  If there are vacancies which you wish to apply for you will have to first create an account by registering your details.  You can then proceed with an application for the vacancy.
You will be asked to provide all of your contact details and work history along with a brief multiple choice customer service questionnaire which will ask you how you might deal with various common situations.  Following submission of your application you will be advised within a couple of days as to whether you have been successful.

If you have been successful at the first stage, you will be asked to attend an interview which will usually be at the store where you applied to work.  The Customer Services applicants will be asked to undertake a variety of tasks including a one-to-one interview and to carry out some routine jobs such as filling up shelves and helping on the check-outs to see how you get on in the work placce.
Candidates will usually be advised within 10 days as to whether they have been successful, and if so confirming the details of the offer of employment.

Are you interested in a career with supermarket giant Tesco in the New Year? Tesco is undoubtedly a huge player in the supermarket game and with such grandeur comes a hefty element of job security and satisfaction.

Tesco also offers a broad range of careers from shop assistants, Management positions and Tradesman positions such as Butcher and Baker, to warehousing and logistics personnel. It doesn’t end there; there are specialist careers within Tesco for Pharmacists, Fuel engineers and Financial Whizz-Kids! Working for Tesco really can suit people from all walks of life and backgrounds.

Tesco is famed within the job sector for providing steady careers to people from all walks of life, and is well known for its commitment to staff training and development, as well as offering an extensive benefit package to its employees. Not least of the benefits is the 10% discount you receive on your shopping, as well as discounted financial products such as insurance, a reasonable pension and health cover, and many discounts on leisure activities and gym memberships.

Tesco also has an excellent track record when it comes to diversity and equal opportunities, even running its own “Working Past Retirement” scheme to encourage employees to work beyond the traditional retirement ages. They also actively encourage staff to take on apprenticeships and courses to further their education and career prospects, as well as an extensive graduate programme.

Tesco has its own dedicated careers site that you can visit at http://www.tesco-careers.com/ , the site contains a wealth of information about the various positions available, as well as an active search engine to find vacancies that you may wish to apply for.

The application process itself is relatively simple. Firstly, visit the website and use the search function to look for jobs that you might be interested in. You can apply for positions directly online via the Apply button on each job listing, and if successful for most posts you will be invited for an interview, which will consist of the usual formal interview questions based around the position in which you are applying for. The interview may be followed by a second interview or group task interview. There are specialist sections of Tesco recruitment for Graduate and Head Office positions, and these may entail further application processes dependent on the role.

Loads of great information here. I would imagine there's a bit of information on their website, too.

Tesco is really popular, especially with students, and there always seems to be vacancies around September/October, when students leave the area for university.

If you register and do not get an email within 24 hours, then it is probably wise to try again or to contact them for help.
