Human resources advisors salary - HR Advisor pay rates.
Human resources advisors are also known as human resources officers or personnel officers. Your main role is to hire staff and ensure they are looked after according to the law and current legislations.
It is an office based role so you need to be capable of working from a desk in an office daily. Your role will be incredibly varied but will include advertising for staff and conducting the interviews, liaising with managers and colleagues to ensure vacancies are filled and job roles are defined, providing staff training or organising training for them to complete and organising staff support such as counselling and welfare.
There is also a lot of paperwork including record keeping and maintenance, ensuring HR policies and information are accurate and up to date, keeping up to date with legislation changes and writing staff handbooks. You will be responsible for ensuring complaints are dealt with, health and safety is carried out correctly and your company’s diversity policy is upheld. A human resources advisor will also be responsible for making sure pay, benefits and redundancy are all correct.
You will need excellent written skills and communication. Previous office experience is desirable and a friendly and helpful manner is essential. You will be liaising with many different people so you will need to be calm, professional and organised. Due to the sensitive information you will deal with at times, you need to be discreet and keep things confidential. You may be required to have a qualification from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, or least be willing to study for it.
Starting salary: £15,000 - £19,000
Experienced salary: £18,000 - £25,000
Senior salary: £25,000 - £50,000
