There is a considerable cost having to recruit and train new staff, so it is usually more cost-effective for employers to retain their existing staff.

This infographic has lists of reasons that employees leave their existing employers;

- Lack of opportunities;
- Heavy workload;
- Career advancement/promotion

There are also details of costs relating to rehiring a new employee which averages at $5,500 per employee.
