Employers can’t force employees to take annual leave when they’re eligible for sick leave.

Any statutory holiday entitlement that isn’t used because of illness can be carried over into the next leave year. If an employee is ill just before or during their holiday, they can take it as sick leave instead.

An employee can ask to take their paid holiday for the time they’re off work sick. They might do this if they don’t qualify for sick pay, for example. Any rules relating to sick leave will still apply.

Yes, employers can search your bag if necessary.

Employers can monitor their employees. This can be done in different ways:

CCTV, drug testing, bag searches, checking workers emails and websites they browse on the net while at work.

Quote
Employers should have a written policy on searching. Searches should:
  • respect privacy
  • be done by a member of the same sex
  • be done with a witness present

We are sorry to say that you have not reached the minimum criteria required in our automatic screening. Have another read through of your answers: what would you change if you were to put yourself in our customers' shoes?

CV Tips / Re: I have no qualifications, how do I write a CV?
« Last post by jrichardson on December 27, 2017, 08:33:02 PM »
I believe that a powerful CV is your only chance to make a great impression on recruiters. Even if you don’t have enough qualifications, you should focus on transferable skills that you have (such as leadership and communication skills, ability to make quick decisions or solve any kinds of problems, etc.). If you have volunteering experience, internships, were in a summary school or took part in some educational program, add all of these to your CV and show how proactive and skillful you are. Also, include personal qualities which make you a good match for this position. The most important part, however, is to be confident and have a faith in your success. I you het a rejection, don’t get upset but keep looking.
