Does Temping Pay Well?

I have heard that temping jobs pay really badly, just minimum wage. Is this true?

The amount that temping pays will depend on the job that you are doing and the agency that you go through. You will not get paid sick leave and holiday entitlement is very low, where you will have to be doing the job for a certain time period with no breaks in order to be entitled to paid leave. However, the amount of pay you get is unlikely to be the minimum wage, especially if you are working in an office. It is certainly worth investigating.

It can pay well, and if you're happy with not having all of the rights that you would have if you worked for them properly, you could enjoy the freedom of being able to take or deny jobs as you wish. For example, if you would like a couple of months off in the summer, you simply don't book in for any work during that time. It also gives you the chance to build up key contacts in the industry.
