If you have got an interview as a Call Centre Operator then you will be dealing with high volume inbound and outbound calls maybe working for one of the utility companies, finance companies etc. You will need to have excellent customer service skills and be able to spend the majority of your day talking to customers on the telephone and keeping accurate logs on who you have contacted and note any follow ups.

Before your interview, make sure that you research the business well so that you understand what the calls are going to be about. Have you ever had a call from them before? Look at their website for the types of calls they do and the hours they operate to give you an idea.

During your interview, your interviewer will be looking to assess how good your customer service skills are and whether you can do telesales as this will be the bulk of your daily work. You could be asked questions such as:

Call Centre Operator Interview Questions
  • Have you been used to making high volume calls in the past? If so how many?
  • Are you used to being targeted on the calls that you make?
  • What would you do if a customer was aggressive on the telephone? How would you react?
  • How have you been used to targeting customers in the past?
  • Is the customer always right?
There will be many specific questions related to the industry that your interviewer will be keen on finding out from you so it is important to do your research well. Have you looked at the general things before going to an interview, such as where will you park if you are driving, how are you going to travel there, how much time do you need to allow? If you can think of the basic things then you will not need to worry about them on the way to your interview so that you can be thinking of what questions and what information you would like to find out from them.

Good luck.
