Boiler Technician Job Interview Questions and Tips
« on: February 18, 2014, 08:57:37 AM »

If you have got an interview for a Boiler Technician role then you will be qualified in this role and have had to pass rigorous tests and exams to be qualified. You will also have to have some work experience throughout your training with some kind of mentor to ensure that you have trained thoroughly and are experienced enough to be able to fix, maintain and repair customer’s boilers. Depending on who you work for you could be working on commercial or private boilers.

Before going to any interview you need to be as well prepared as possible so the key here is to research effectively. You need to know exactly what type of company you are looking to work for and what the job role entails. You can match your skill set through comparing the job description and CV and doing a detailed summary on what you can and can’t do. This is important to be able to explain and turn to a positive any areas that you are less comfortable with.

Boiler Technician Interview Questions

You could be asked questions such as:
  • Where did you undergo your training?
  • What boilers have you worked on to date?
  • Why did you choose this career path?
  • Explain in simple terms how a boiler works, as if you were talking to a customer with no prior knowledge?
  • Do you have any restrictions to work, such as geographical area?
Be prepared for your interviewer to want to know what type of person you are, how you deal with customers, if you have ever had any customer service training in the past and what your working method is? You will need to follow detailed appointments and will have a set time to do these appointments in to ensure that they do not over run and have to be re booked. You will probably be at your busiest in the winter months.

Remember that you will also receive typical interview questions too:
  • Tell me about yourself
  • Why should we hire you?
  • What makes you better candidate than others
  • What is your weakness / strength?
Good luck.
