Wilkinsons is a retail store selling a selection of different things such as toiletries, hardware, paints, stationery and some food stuffs. It mainly employs people to work on the tills although there are administration, management and other jobs as well. This means that it is very important to have retail experience or skills that will help in this sort of job.

It will be necessary to explain why you want to work for the company and what skills you have that will make you suitable for the job. Therefore it is worth knowing something about them. You may shop in the store and therefore could use that as a reason for wanting to work there, perhaps you like the products they sell or the service that they give.

Explain how you think that this will help you with working at Wilkinson’s.

There are management roles and if you are interested in doing one of these, then you need to think about how you will demonstrate that you have the skills for this. It might be that you have previous work experience or that you have worked in a role where you have had some management experience before.

For all roles in the job you should make sure that you know a lot about the company. You should find out a bit about them and the branch that you applying to work at. Find out when it opened and things like that. This will help you to show that you have a genuine interest in the company.
