Dear Sirs

I should like to apply for the role of Trainee Building Services Engineer as advertised recently.

I am currently working at the headquarters of a national retail chain, where I been working for 18 months. I help look after the electrical repair and maintenance of a number of branches, help with technical inspections and surveys, manage minor works and contractors, and advise local building managers in property care. All this is under the supervision of the building services manager, although I have successfully been able to project manage some minor works entirely on my own, with just the necessary test and inspection at the end of the project being over-seen by my manager.

I am currently working towards an HNC in building maintenance and would like to progress towards becoming a chartered building services professional. I believe that your organisation would provide the right environment and opportunity to enable me to do this hence I would like to be considered for this position.

I am technically competent, meticulous in my approach to everything I undertake and a good communicator. I am able to use modern ICT systems and am very willing to learn in the job.

I enclose my CV and am available for interview at your convenience. References are available on request and I very much look forward to hearing from you as appropriate.

Yours faithfully
