Or maybe ....

Dear Mr. Hamilton

I am writing to you to state my interest in the Desktop IT Support position offered by PDA Systems. Along with qualifications in CCNA, MCSE and MCITP, I have three years’ trained experience in large scale organisations. I am confident that I can make a tremendous contribution to your IT Support department.

Having read the requirements stated in your job description, I can offer skills in preparing, supporting, and maintaining desktop and laptop hardware and software running Windows and Mac. I am also experienced in providing event support with desktop software, user accounts, network, and peripheral issues. I have previously covered installation and troubleshooting of LAN, WAN, servers and backup facilities and virus detection and removal.

In addition to my practical expertise, I have good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work efficiently with all levels. I have an aptitude to work independently at different assigned support locations and participate in team meetings to give feedback from users, provide status of continuing projects and take on new projects.

I have enclosed my CV for your consideration and would like the opportunity to further discuss my skills and qualifications with you in an interview.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Yours sincerely
