Cover Letter for Medical Receptionist
« on: July 14, 2014, 08:37:20 AM »

If you are looking to be a Medical Receptionist then you will not only have experience of working as a receptionist but ideally you will have some medical knowledge to make it easier when talking to patients, booking tests, collecting results, ordering prescriptions etc.

As a Medical Receptionist you will not only take calls from patients and suppliers but you will also liaise with the local chemist, send samples and tests off for analysis, liaise with hospitals and testing facilities and send letters and reminders out.

You will need to be a very organised person, with an excellent telephone and customer service manner who can be flexible and work in a fast paced environment.

If you have found a role in which you want to apply for, please see the below example covering letter which you can use as a guide in your application.

Medical Receptionist Cover Letter Example

Dear Sir/Madam,

Application for the role of Medical Receptionist

I would like to apply for the role of Medical receptionist which I have seen advertised in (which publication and when).

I come from a background of reception and customer services and feel that I have excellent experience in dealing with customers on the telephone and face to face and this is combined with strong administration skills.

I am organised, positive, friendly and approachable. I like to deal with people and to help them in any way I can.  I have dealt with different switchboards and ways of communicating messages through a company and I am flexible in how I do this and learn new systems and ways of working quickly.

In one of my previous roles I did some temporary work at  a hospital so do have some medical knowledge of the jargon patients use and I am happy to learn anything I need to ensure that I can do my role efficiently.

Please find attached my CV which shows my skills and experiences. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and CV. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely

You have to have a number of skills if you would like to be a medical receptionist, and you also need to make sure that you a great manner when you're dealing with people, because you may find that they're very worried when they come to see you, and you would need to reassure them. If you could get some work experience in a medical environment this might help, but even just having experience as a receptionist is great.
